The Providence Conference Host Committee has designed a very different kind of program. We will, as always, celebrate the best practices and practitioners in the field, with several great networking events culminating in our gala Awards Banquet at the historic Squantum Club overlooking Narragansett Bay, our program content will be both richer and more interactive than ever. Frankly, the times demand it of us, and our intent is nothing less than to help participants prepare themselves to lead the way as the work of economic development, driven by unprecedented changes around us, is transformed.
We'll hear leading thinkers and experienced practitioners, both from the economic development profession and beyond, talk about the global economy, changing fiscal climate, energy markets, and other forces. Among these will be innovators like Rick Smyre, a futurist who also happens to have direct economic development; corporate and economic strategy expert Kevin Hively; and organizational and community leadership expert Robert Leaver.
